Micro Links, Hair Locs, Flat Tracks, Metal/Copper beads!

If there is 1 thing that I would advise anyone who wants to get extensions, it is to stay away from any of the the things that I mentioned in the title.
They sound great and the fact that they are only clamped onto your hair with no heat only a plier, WOW! Well, those metal beads cause serious curosion and major breakage. Water from showering or the pool seep inside the beads and cause curosion. And think about this, when you iron, curl, or blow dry your hair and the heat is applied to the metal, your hair is being fried on the inside of those beads causing you hair to break. Just think of those as mini ovens when you put heat on them.

I got my hair cut really short and I have had it short for a year now, and Im too inpatient to let it grow, so i was planning on getting extentions, that look natural, and arent too expensive. One of the prices I looked at for weaving was 1,200 dollars! So thanks for the advice!

Are you kiddin??? Micro links using weft hair or strand by strand are the best, they do not damage at all. I've had them for two years and there is absolutely NO damage to my hair.

I had keratin tipped heat bonded and they destroyed my hair. Talk about using anything with heat on your hair with those things, it gets into the hair and ends up looking like dread locks. To remove them it took hair polish remover and something else that I can't remember. In my opinion, links and locks with no heat it the best, least damaging, fastest, longest lasting and most economical.

Actually this blog was written 2 years ago... Now they have updated the beads and they have a silicone lining.. So I would say, as long as they have the silicone they are just fine :)
